I grew up playing drums along with Rush, Yes, King Crimson, and Queen. Then I started playing vibraphone and got into Milt Jackson, Gary Burton and Bobby Hutcherson.

I have wanted to play King Crimson's "Frame By Frame" for a VERY long time - I wrote this arrangement probably back in 2006 or 2007, but never really played it live..so in March 2024 when my friend gave me the keys to his studio for three weeks, I decided to finally record it.

I might go into detail about the recording process in another video but basically the order was something like this (this is a hard tune!)

1. Pre-record scratch tracks for bass, piano and vibraphone into logic using midi
2. Record three full takes of drums (all trash)
3. Record the 1st vibes part (this is the main guitar part from the original)
4. Record the 2nd vibes part (minimalist second voice)
5. Record the piano chords
6. Record two more drum takes (not trash)
7. Record the vibes countermelody (from the verse)
8. Record the real electric bass
9. Record the piano melody
