Thank you to u/xmasinspace for sending me the mp3 file of this long lost version of the track. This is the original song before the iconic gunshots, as sang on the "me and maya" video.

Im 99% sure this is the version present on the demo CDs M.I.A. gave out to her label, dancers and street friends.

I asked where the person got the MP3 from. The answer:

"You’re welcome! Couldn’t really tell you. Just something I downloaded and kept many years ago. I’d bet it originated from the CD you found on Discogs."

The CD mentioned is the Kids With Boom promo which has 3 other versions of the song that have also been lost. The CD was bought by him and when arrived will be ripped and posted online. Massive thanks.
