Forests don't conform to foursquare symmetry, but instead grow (when allowed) according to their own laws. In a similar way, this composition was born of an improvisation in which I followed instinct rather than setting an internal clock to common time (as I often do). Sure, there are moments in this piece in which 4/4 prevails, but if you count in this time for long you'll soon get lost!
