Description
Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a classic coming of age story with amazing writing, charterers and a great story.
It was written and directed by John Hughes. It only took Hughes about a week to write the script. The film was released in 1986, and ever since it has been one of the most popular and classic teen comedies of the 80s.
It is also rumored to be in the same world as the movies Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club as they take place at the same fictional high school.
Originally, the movie did not have a soundtrack. Hughes did not think anyone would actually want it. He did, however, create a few hundred of 45's of the Flowerpot Men "Beat City" promo singles to hand out at promotional screenings.
The Flowerpot Men were a British electronic music group active in the 1980s. This group featured electronic musician Ben Watkins (of Juno Reactor), Paul N. Davies (of Naked Lunch), and cellist Adam Peters.
They recorded several EPs including Alligator Bait, Jo's So Mean and The Janice Long Session. The EP Jo's So Mean was produced by Siouxsie and the Banshees' co-founder Steven Severin who described it as "a proto-techno classic".
In 2016, A limited edition of a Ferris Bueller's Day Off soundtrack was released.
