Description
Ey Iran was composed in Tehran, amid the Anglo-Soviet occupation in1944. The lyrics were written by Hossein Gol-e-Golab and the music was composed by Professor Ruhollah Khaleqi, first performed and recorded by Gholam-Hossein Banan.
The stark industrial advancement and cultural renaissance of the reign of Reza Shah Pahlavi inspired Gol-e-Golab to write the patriotic song.
The song is sometimes mistaken for being the former Iranian national anthem, being the de facto anthem only during the Provision Government Period.
Though the song is most famous in its traditional form, this shortened orchestral and choir variant is reminiscent of Imperial Iran's glory.

Lyrics:
Ey Irân ey marze por gohar
Ey xâkat sarcešmeye honar
Dur az to andišeye badân
Pâyande mâni to jâvedân
Ey Irân ey marze por gohar
Ey xâkat sarcešmeye honar
Sange kuhat dorro gohar ast
Xâke daštat behtar az zarast
Pâyande bâd xâke Irâne mâ!
