"Jeong-ga"
Jeong-ga means “righteous song”. It was a vocal genre that was enjoyed by the noblemen. Back then, people of high status thought it was undignified to show their emotions in music, so the melodic lines and ornaments give a pure and organized impression. Nowadays Jeong-ga is sung by professional Jeong-ga singers as it requires a sensitive control of vibrato and complex pitch changes.
