This song was the final song of three recorded on 29 October 1976 in Graceland and therefore Elvis’ penultimate studio recording of his lifetime. It would be completed in six takes. The take chosen as the master would have a run time of just over five and a half minutes, but this was edited down by more than half to two minutes and fifty seconds.
Post production took place on 22 January 1977 at Creative Workshop in Nashville and largely comprised of Elvis’ own TCB band with a couple of additions. On release, it was placed as the second track on side two of “Moody Blue”, the final studio album of Elvis’ career.
