Description
Written by Elton & Tim Rice for The Lion King soundtrack. When Rice was approached by the Disney Company to write for the film, he requested a partnership with Elton. He had written one song for Elton's Jump Up! album, "Legal Boys." Elton's version of "Can You Feel the Love" contains different lyrics than the film version, due to changes in the story line. Elton takes credit for talking Disney Studios into putting the song back in the film after they had edited it out. His version served as the closing credits soundtrack, and earned him both Grammy and Oscar awards. The song made the American Top Ten, and was #1 in the Adult Contemporary charts.
