Another case of me finding that the official 12" Single had too much of the original instrumentation stripped out for the sake of a new drum track and someone going WAY too far sampling the vocals! This is the original album track with some added 4-on-the-floor to keep the energy going. Apparently, Donna wanted this song released in honour of the Challenger Shuttle, but Geffen (you know, the famous bi-now gay-later record exec who chose to ignore the thumping sound of the gay 80's discos in spite of having the ultimate Disco Diva on his roster) decided to release Only The Fool Survives as the second single after Dinner With Gershwin. So much for the promo label on the album shrink-wrap!
