Disco 2000 - Pulp Lyrics and Chords
This 70's Brittish Rock band is very well known for their captivating and rather amusing lyrics and for me this is one of the most knockout love songs ever written. Gives a nostalgic longing to times when some of us weren't even born yet. I love it.
It was such a pleasure recording it in Spain,
going back to the Catalan middle ages in the city of Besalú, surrounded by the Romanesque architecture from the 12th century and the Fluvià river.
Thank you Lu my love ,
for editing, filming and the magnificent trip, best Bday gift 💝

Lyrics and Chords:
capo 3 for my scale.
[Verse]
E
Well we were born within an hour of each other.
E
Our mothers said we could be sister and brother.
A A
Your name is Deborah. Deborah. It never suited you.
E
And they said that when we grew up,
E
We'd get married and never split up.
A A
Oh, we never did, although I often thought of it
[Pre-Chorus]
Bm
Oh Deborah, do you recall?
Your house was very small,
With woodchip on the wall,
And when i came round to call,
E
You didn't notice me at all
[Chorus]
And I said,
A
Lets all meet up in the year 2000.
C#m F#m
Won't it be strange when we're all fully grown?
Bm E
Be there 2 o'clock by the fountain down the road.
A
I never knew that you'd get married,
C#m F#m
I would be living down here on my own.
Bm E
On that damp and lonely Thursday years ago
[Verse 2]
You were the first girl in school to get breasts.
Martin said that you were the best.
Ohh the boys all loved you, but I was a mess!
I had to watch them try to get you undressed.
We were friends that was as far as it went.
I used to walk you home sometimes but it meant;
Oh it meant nothing to you
Cos you were, oh so popular
[Pre-Chorus]
Bm
Oh Deborah, do you recall?
Your house was very small,
With woodchip on the wall,
And when i came round to call
E
You didn't notice me at all . . . .
[Chorus]
And i said,
A
Lets all meet up in the year 2000.
C#m F#m
Won't it be strange when we're all fully grown?
Bm E
Be there 2 o'clock by the fountain down the road.
A
I never knew that you'd get married,
C#m F#m
I would be living down here on my own.
Bm E
