Dianne Reeves is an American singer who studied classical voice at the University of Colorado and she sang and recorded with jazz musicians like Stanley Turrentine, Lenny White, and Billy Childs. She moved to New York City and from 1983 to 1986 toured with Harry Belafonte. In 1987 Dianne signed with the Blue Note label and that year her highly praised album, featuring Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, and Tony Williams, was nominated for a Grammy Award. She went on to win five Grammy Awards. Dianne Reeves is a master interpreter of lyrics and great at scat singing.
In the orchestra, you can spot Kendrick Scott on drums, subbing for Martijn Vink that night.
