Diana Krall is a Canadian jazz pianist and singer, born on November 16, 1964, in Nanaimo, British Columbia. She is renowned for her contralto vocals and has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide, including over six million in the United States. Krall is the only jazz singer to have had eight albums debut at the top of the Billboard Jazz Albums chart.

Krall began studying piano at the age of four and later attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston on a scholarship. She released her debut album, "Stepping Out," in 1993, which caught the attention of producer Tommy LiPuma. Her third album, "All for You: A Dedication to the Nat King Cole Trio" (1996), was nominated for a Grammy and stayed on the Billboard jazz charts for 70 weeks.

She has won two Grammy Awards and eight Juno Awards, and her albums have earned nine gold, three platinum, and seven multi-platinum certifications. Krall is married to British musician Elvis Costello, and they have twin sons.
