I love this fiery performance by CBC Hymn Sing's Irena Welhasch with the energetic accompaniment of the Winnipeg Chamber Orchestra(I believe).
It's from one of the great Italian baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi's cantatas, but I don't know which one. As a global civilization we should be uttering this universal plea for God's mercy rather than going out & participating in protests, boycotts & humanistic activism. It seems that everyone today has forgotten that the Master of the Universe wants to hear our prayers but all He hears is noise & empty philosophy. When the prophet Jeremiah was imprisoned the Lord said to him, "Call to Me & I will answer you & tell you great & unsearchable things that you do not know." Jeremiah 33:3 The Moslems pray to a false god 5 times a day, & we who serve the Living God in heaven would be so much safer & happier if we came to Him in prayer more often. Let's not just get depressed when we watch the news today, but rather, find in it the problems in the world we need to pray about.
