Description
Why do we build the things we build? DataBass, created by Scott Mulvahill, is an upright bass enabled with the power of MIDI sampling. Scott explores the ideas behind it, and why we need to know the purpose of our inventions if we're going to make them work for us. Scott Mulvahill is a bassist, singer/songwriter, music producer, recording artist, and inventor of the DataBass. Beginning with 2018's "Himalayas", he's released 4 albums to date. A highly gifted live performer, he's played thousands of concerts as a solo artist and collaborator, and shared stages with the likes of Bruce Hornsby, Cory Wong, Alison Krauss, Ricky Skaggs, Cody Fry, Keb Mo', Lauren Daigle, H.E.R., and many more. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
