布基上校進行曲是一首傳統的英國軍樂，也是代表在英治時代的香港，在假日音樂會中，英國軍歌都不可或決，而布基上校進行曲 在香港歷史亦有另一個意義，香港淪陷後，有懂得吹奏樂器的戰俘在前往戰俘營的途中，一路步行，一路吹奏進行曲 ，一度令其他戰俘起哄，最後日軍要開槍示警。

Colonel Boogie's March also has another meaning in Hong Kong history. After the fall of Hong Kong , The prisoner of war (POW) who was playing musical instruments and played marching music on the way to the POW camp, which made other POW booed, and finally the Japanese army fired a warning shot.
