This alternate version of Khe Sanh features mildly different vocal and instrumental arrangements. The intro features piano and vocal only, missing the acoustic guitar of the original and that is how you can quickly tell which version you're listening to. There is also less emphasis on the harmonica and the re-recorded vocal track has slightly different phrasing in parts. This culminates in the much more rousing rendition of "Check Things Out Again" before the organ solo and finale.

Nowadays you can only find the 2011 remastered original version on Youtube and most music streaming services. But listeners of the mid-80s and early 90s might be familiar with this version. It's the one I grew up with. I couldn't find a decent version of this on Youtube so here it is. Enjoy.
