“Climb Ev’ry Mountain” was created through the musical collaboration of composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II. The inspirational song was written for “The Sound of Music,” a 1959 Tony-Award winning Broadway musical and 1965 Academy Award-winning film, starring Julie Andrews. The theme of the song encourages people to pursue their dreams. As Mother Abbess in the original Broadway production, Patricia Neway sang “Climb Ev’ry Mountain.” This improvisation of the song is by pianist Charles Manning.
