Description

Chinese zither (also known as Guzheng) is a traditional Chinese music instrument boasting a long history and a profound culture background. During the past half century, it has gained rapid development and wide popularity in China as well as across Asia. Mooring by a Maple Bridge in the Midnight composed by Wang Jianmin emerges as one of the best Chinese zither works in recent years. The zither concerto derives from a poem going by the same name Mooring by a Maple Bridge in the Midnight, which was written by Zhangji, a famous poet in Tang dynasty. Applying a western composing style in both a traditional and a rather modern way, the concerto illustrates the interaction and mutual influences between natural beauty and one’s inner feelings. Meanwhile, by adopting a unique performance style in zither, namely, the breathing control and techniques application, a natural flow of emotions is able to present itself, which adds endless charm and rich connotation to the concerto.

In this video, due to the limitations of recording conditions at that time, the work only shows the solo part of guzheng. (Excluding pianos)

古筝是中国的一种传统乐器，有着悠久的历史和深厚的文化底蕴。半个世纪以来，它在中国乃至亚洲得到了迅速发展和广泛普及。王健民创作的《午夜枫桥下泊》是近年来中国古筝的代表作之一。古筝协奏曲源于唐代著名诗人张己的《枫枫桥泊》。协奏曲运用了西方传统和现代的作曲风格，体现了自然美和人的内心情感之间的相互作用和影响。同时，通过古筝独特的演奏风格，即呼吸的控制和技巧的运用，表现出一种自然的情感流动，为协奏曲增添了无尽的魅力和丰富的内涵。

在本视频中由于当时录制条件的限制，作品仅展示古筝独奏部分。（不包括钢琴）
