Emperor laughs:
That is really an exquisite dance, which proved that there is no end to your charms. It was like whirling snow or a swallow in flight, surpassing anything that has been for many centuries.

Lady:
The emperor's praise makes me blush with shame to have danced so ill.

Emperor:
I shall give you ten silk rolls with birds embroidered in gold, and a gold tiara as fee for this fairy dance. And I give you this jewelled pouch containing ambergris, which I wear myself, to wear when you are dancing.

Lady:
Long live the emperor!

Emperor:
Just as this Rainbow Dance will be immortal,
To you I wish eternal youth for ever.

Lady:
How fortunate I am, to be bathed
In You Majesty's own perfume!
