Description
I found another medically related medieval song. Here is #209 (Muito faz grand' erro) from Cantigas de Santa Maria, a collection of 420 poems with musical notation dedicated to the virgin Mary during the reign of Alfonso X of Castile El Sabio (1221-1284). King don Alfonso of Castile fell ill in Vitoria. His foolish doctors prescribed hot cloths but instead the King ordered to be covered with the book of songs of the Holy Mary and he was cured. I'm waiting for the double blind trial, but the music is nice. Performed by Daniel Shoskes on a 5 course gittern built by George Stevens. Plectrum is a cow horn risha.
