"For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by space and our place in the universe. The Hubble Space Telescope, launched in 1990, has been the pinnacle of space exploration, showing us glorious images of the cosmos. The torch has now been passed to the James Webb Space Telescope which was launched on December 25, 2021. The James Webb Space Telescope will allow us to look back in time to 100 million years after the Big Bang when the first stars and galaxies began to form. This launch had me so excited that I felt compelled to compose a work in honor of this great achievement. “Calling from Afar” is dedicated to NASA, ESA, CSA, and the men and women of the James Webb Space Telescope team."
