Description
A masterpiece recording done by the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Ton Koopman & Yo-Yo Ma, juxtaposed with a relatively unusual (possibly open-air) oil on paper painting by Jean-Honoré Fragonard (c. 1765, entitled Mountain Landscape at Sunset). I thought this "Rococo" piece was fitting for Luigi Boccherini's Adagio movement of Concerto in G Major for Cello and String Orchestra (G. 480, composed around the same time). Fragonard's piece is being presented at (as far as I know) the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C., and Boccherini's piece was recorded with replicated Baroque-era instruments.
