Description
"O mein Papa" was written by Swiss composer Paul Burkhard in 1939 for the musical "Der schwarze Hecht (The Black Pike)." It was reproduced in 1950 as "Das Feuerwerk (The Firework)." The song was recorded in English as "Oh! My Papa" by a number of artists, including Eddie Fisher, whose version was a No. 1 hit in the US Billboard chart in 1954. I thought this was a fitting tribute to all those wonderful fathers on Father's Day.
