Not long after ‘Beloved’ was released, I had this idea about doing a lyric video for fun after repeating the song and drawing little cassette players and hearts in my sketchbook. I approached Rai (somedayben) if she was interested in collaborating on this project as a consultant and providing her graphic design expertise. She was the first to come to mind after watching her graphic design work surrounding Ben Barnes for some time now. Rai was a phenomenal collaborative partner and provided the beautiful graphics of the lyrics ( That she sampled from Ben's handwriting from the music video) that you see now.

We started by brainstorming how we wanted this to look on screen. Eventually, we settled on some of the themes as seen in the music video, from the therapist with a journal to the hearts that filled the space. It all came together and felt personable. As if the viewer was being left these notes and taken on a journey with them. Using elements like paper, texture, animations, and handwritten-styled lyrics to make it more so. All the while following some moments from the music video: The heart confetti was a fun element we added later in editing. Then the journal closes abruptly and goes back to the desk, like how in the video went back to the therapy session.
