Artist Statement from Meta Young:
"It is my privilege to offer this project in collaboration with Anilah.
The design and choreography of this performance was initially inspired by The Descent of Brighid as recorded in the Carmina Gadelica. My intention was to convey the complexity and range of this Celtic goddess, to embrace and respect her influence. Birth, divination, war, smithcraft, the feminine—she is, in her way, asking us to look at the intersections of being.
She is all the destruction of wildfire; she is the new forest that wildfire births.
I hope my interpretation both in design and movement, layered with Anilah’s compelling music, will give viewers a beautiful experience."

Lyrics:
I'm weaving you a remedy,
so pulled by threads of ancestry,
we've sown seeds of memory
I'm braiding a new tapestry.
Where is my altar,
Who am I calling?
Where is my altar,
Where is my center?
I took your ashes to the lake,
I made a place of offering,
I pulled my needle through your name,
And let the water wash away...
Where is my altar?
Where is the center?
Bloodline memory.
Here is the altar,
Here is the center."
