I was so sad to hear of the passing of Gordon Lightfoot one of our most treasured singer songwriters. He started in the 60s, ruled the 70s and continued into the 80s. He had the #1 smash Sundown that is one of the 70s greatest songs.. To honor him I wanted to share some key lyrics from 3 of his other most beloved songs that are worth pondering The first one if from his top 10 hit from 1974 Carefree Highway: "And the thing that I call living is just being satisfied With knowing I've got no one left to blame. The second one is from his top 5 hit If You Could Read My Mind from 1970. He wrote it about his divorce.. : he says when you reach the part where the heartache comes the hero would be me.
