Description
Funky Kings member Jack Tempchin wrote what would become much better-known for its top-10 1977 Johnny Rivers recording (listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmiNLVTDFDI ). The song initially appeared as a track in the Funky Kings’ self-titled 1976 LP and was then released on this nationally charted 45 single. Note that a somewhat ‘dryer’ mix of this track is also commonly available which may have been the actual first-released LP version, though it is the same recorded take as this post.
