Description
Originally recorded in 1963 by The Searchers (and bearing no slight resemblance to the Tommy Roe hit “Sheila”), the Tony Hatch-penned “Sugar And Spice” returned in ’66 via this first nationally charted single by the locally-popular Chicago group. Signing soon-after with Columbia Records, their label billing was changed to show the apostrophe after “Cryan.”
Pop Chart Peaks: Record World 39, Billboard 49, Cash Box 52
Released on 45rpm single Destination 624 - Sugar And Spice (Tony Hatch as ‘Fred Nightingale’) by The Cryan Shames
