Description
It’s Beginning To Look Like Christmas (Willson) by Perry Como and The Fontane Sisters, orchestra conducted by Mitchell Ayres
No, that’s not a label misprint...the words “a lot” were not part of the original copyrighted song title. Composer/conductor/playwright/radio performer/TV producer Meredith Willson [sic] is today best-remembered by many for having written “The Music Man,” though he also penned a handful of stand-alone pop songs over the years. They included “You And I” “May The Good Lord Bless And Keep You” “I See The Moon” and this seasonal favorite, with Perry & the Fontanes performing the version that registered on the Billboard sales charts during the song’s 1951 debut year.
THE 1951 HITS ARCHIVE - here in one place, a good-quality library of original-release-version best-sellers and songs that made an impact that were either released or enjoyed a major chunk of their popularity within the calendar year 1951 (some were recorded in 1950).
