The Irving Berlin standard was introduced in 1932 and popularized then in recordings by Paul Whiteman, Guy Lombardo, and Rudy Vallee. This 1941 Goodman/Lee track remained unissued until the (pictured) 78 release in late 1944.

Though included in Joel Whitburn’s “Pop Memories” book as a ‘charted’ 1945 single, it never appeared on the Billboard listings. His sources of non-Billboard chart data for the book have never been specified or verified to my knowledge, though he once told me that Variety was one of the publications used. And Cash Box did chart this track for one week at #30 in early 1945.
